WE ARE WHAT WE EAT: DAY FOUR WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?
Just finished up eating my dinner of bulgar, french, green, yellow lentils, added steamed kale, broccoli, collard greens, and mixed it all together with olive hummus with a splash of Tapatio/lime juice on top of delicious farmers' market arugula, mustard greens and a delicious spicy guacamole created by RVB. Eat it up yummy with plenty leftovers for tomorrows public transportation adventure to Anaheim to play a hockey coach in Fox's television show "HOUSE". Living the life, creating newness, and so happy to be with all of you here sharing and opening up. I believe with faith and courage to follow through, take risk, and be my wacky Random Ryan self. Today was filled with me breaking my vow to wake up early, once again slept passed 11am, woke up at 4am or so with the TV on spread out on the couch since I dozed off watching Rafa beat Roger in another tennis grand slam dropping the first set and taking the next three to wait for the winner in the other semi between Djokovic and Murray. Up late again this evening. The sunshine was oh so shining today as I woke up, and with an empty stomach, ran 7+ miles around Almansor Park dodging duck/geese poo, but enduring a wonderful sweat and well deserved work out. I even went back for more in the evening, but ran into trouble in the parking lot, NOOOO not local Asian thugs or a punk street gang, but nasty tree ripping divits in the sidewalk that knocked me off my feet sliding across and down BAAAAAM on the asphalt....Lawsuit here I come or at least make them fix the death traps that align their establishment. I survived, shot some photos of my growdy/war wounds, cleaned up, shaved, showered, and enjoyed some delicious food that I created in our Chapel Avenue kitchen. So how are y all feeling today? I got my first reaction to my hat at Ralphs this evening. Checker Nancy Castillo kept asking me, "So What is Your Purpose? sO what is your purpose?" I responded, "I don't know yet, but I will be back to interview since you are the FIRST person to ask me." She will be waiting with anticipation as I will return with my camera. So how do all of you eat? Morning eaters? or do you skip breakfast since you don't feel like to digest anything that early? What do all of you eat? How much water do you consume? Do you consume enough? An herbalist/dietitian once told me, take your current body weight/cut in half and that is the starting minimum number of ounces that one should be drinking/per day. How close are you to that number? Should be a lot more than that if you are entertaining yourself with lots of intense exercises. We must replenish, recoup, regain, refuel, re-stabilize, and re-energize our bodies with enough quality nutrients that can assist and maintain our daily lifestyle, Sleep, sleep, sleep and more sleep...so so so important especially deep sleep. You know what your body wants? Please don't forget to move around too, change up your day, destroy your routine way of living, hydrate yourself, be kind to your body since it is such a sacred entity that has to be treated with the utmost love and respect. Do your best to provide yourself with a consistent diet that makes you feel good. Chew more... start with 20-30/per bite(put your fork/spoon down it will help) Nancy Regan used to chew 100x..take your time since all the wonderful tastes/nutrients are deep within the chewing process and your portions will deplete once your body knows and understands how much food you are ingesting..Eat things as close to the Earth as possible. Seek out some rainbow kale, fresh persimmons, nori, honeycrisp apples in season, know and have faith in the source of your food. Take the time to see who prepares your restaurant/take out orders. Understand how long it takes for your water to get to your lips. Taste is not everything, but true blissful energizing food is so tasty. Deep breaths, smile, be cool, smile some more. Remember we are what we eat, and what we eat creates who we are and how we feel. So continue this daily journey with me and indulge with the wealth of knowledge I possess and desire to seek. Since I am here until the end, and the end is closer than we think. I will bring us joyful harmony and growing sunsets of inspiration and enduring strength. Merci & au revoir- RVB
