PLAY WITH STYLE: DAY FORTY NINE WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?
I believe all of us enjoy feeling good physically, feeling good about ourselves, and feeling good with all the things we pursue. Truly what creates this goodness feeling? How do you make sure you have the openness to receive it, create it, celebrate it, and enjoy it to the fullest? A close loved one asked me a couple days ago, "Ryan how do you play?" A very calm but serious question. I took a moment to go through my actions, understand my intentions of those actions, and deep down I lack playing in my life. I run to release, I do laugh a lot which might be consider playing, I enjoy cooking, but my kitchen at home has restrictions and enclosed. I do not play enough. Is yoga playing? Writing? People watching? So I definitely have to bring more play time in my life. I understand I am at a long crossroads in my life, and some would say I shouldn't waste time to play, but I strongly believe that the Loving Soul has to bring some playtime into its Day in order to stay fresh, open, free, and hopeful. It is all about BALANCE in one's LIFE, time management, and the ability to smooth out all the rough edges. How can I play more? Learn to play the banjo that has been waiting in my room for years? Take some cooking classes near the sea somewhere? Get singing again? Follow a writing schedule? Take my brother up on his desire to teach me how to surf into the Pacific?? Salsa anyone? So ask yourself the same question I was asked. How do you play and what do you think is it feels like to have play time? Once you bring some free time into your life or have a play date, really take the time to ENJOY all that you DO. Be patient, aware, alert, and follow through with this new commitment. As people age we stray away from taking the time to play. We forget about how to be joyful, playful, and fun. There is a constant sense of time, places to go, people to meet, things we have to do. NO. Allow yourself to discover an activity, a place, or even someone to indulge with, but make sure you identify the energy you bring to that moment, how you feel, and what intention you have towards your activity. If you already play, and it brings you wonderful memorable times then continue it. Also do your best to do other things too. Challenge yourself, pick up new skills, teach others how to play. There shouldn't be too many days or moments where we feel overwhelmed, TIIIIRED, spent, or just plain DONE. As I always preach; hydration, sleep, sweat, diet, and positive thinking. You are what you think, you are what you eat, therefore understand the power of all that you are, and all that you DO throughout your day. Do it with some STYLE brothers and sisters. Its all in the hips, with the sway, in the wind, from up above. BELIEVE- RVB
